The region is well known for coffee farming, mostly cultivated by hand due to the mountainous terrain, and produces a delicious, sweet coffee bean which is a standout in our Oxfam fair South American blend. On top of a Fairtrade Minimum Price for most products, the Fairtrade approach includes a Fairtrade Premium – an additional sum of money that farmers and workers invest in projects they choose.
